She<\/span><\/span>\r\n> asks to be given a little time to sort it out since she's also busy<\/span><\/span>\r\n> assisting other flood victims.  Your donation will go a long way in<\/span><\/span>\r\n> helping the many victims of Ondoy.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\"\"\r\n> Yesterday, the Tulong Anakpawis and Task Force Obrero had relief<\/span><\/span>\r\n> operations in San Mateo, Rizal and Manggahan, Pasig.  They reported<\/span><\/span>\r\n> many people are suffering from foot injuries due to continuous walking<\/span><\/span>\r\n> in muds.  Many are also sick and also have fungal infections.  There<\/span><\/span>\r\n> are other relief operations underway, while some are busy repacking<\/span><\/span>\r\n> the relief goods and making them ready for distribution.<\/span><\/span>\r\n><\/span><\/span>\r\n> The situation is still abnormal in so many places.  What is so<\/span><\/span>\r\n> infuriating is the stupid response of the government.  The other day,<\/span><\/span>\r\n> they announced that donations in kind from abroad should pass thru the<\/span><\/span>\r\n> Department of Social Welfare and Dev't (DSWD) so it won't be taxed.<\/span><\/span>\r\n> Implicitly, it is saying that donations not passing thru the DSWD will<\/span><\/span>\r\n> be confiscated.  They want the donations to pass thru to them so it<\/span><\/span>\r\n> can be another source of corruption which will just go to their<\/span><\/span>\r\n> pockets and that of their ilks.<\/span><\/span>\r\n><\/span><\/span>\r\n> Another storm is hitting the Bicol region and Samar now and is<\/span><\/span>\r\n> expected to further batter Northern Luzon by tomorrow.  The new storm<\/span><\/span>\r\n> is \"Pepeng\" and the weather station said that it can be a<\/span><\/span>\r\n> supertyphoon, with rains much worse than Ondoy and with gustiness of<\/span><\/span>\r\n> up to 250kph.  Waters in Laguna de Bay has risen, threatening to break<\/span><\/span>\r\n> a 90-yr record water level.  There's a possibility that water will<\/span><\/span>\r\n> overflow in Sta. Rosa and San Pedro, Laguna.  Even as we say this,<\/span><\/span>\r\n> many areas are still flooded (such as in urban poor community<\/span><\/span>\r\n> Southville in Laguna, in Muntinlupa, Cainta, Taguig, Malabon, etc) due<\/span><\/span>\r\n> to Ondoy's wrath.<\/span><\/span>\r\n><\/span><\/span>\r\n> So we really thank you for your help.
