Comment about Manny Pacquiao

Warm greetings!  We have received the copies of the joint newsletter July 2011 (Pintig- Am Puls der Zeit) and saw the article you wrote about Manny Pacquiao.  I could not understand all but I understood the part that Pacquiao is an icon to many Filipinos.

Yes this is true, many Filipinos admire him and now even more because in June this year, Pacquiao as congressman is actively supporting the House Bill „P125 Increase  across the Board, Nationwide“  In the Phil. Daily Inquirer, a nationwide newspaper, was the picture of Pacquiao with our friends in the Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU), Pacquiao wore the T-shirt „P125 Across the Board“.    He said he will actively support passage of the bill in Congress together with our militant party-list congressmen.  Congress will start session on Monday, 25 July.

This bill was first proposed in  the House of Representatives in the mid-1990’s.  And then actively pushed forward  by Crispin Beltran „Ka Bel“ when he became congressman in 2001 until he died in 2008.

Thank you for the article.

Warmest regards to you and your family
