Beileidsbekundung von Eberhard und Suse aus Stuttgart

Liebe DPFler,
bitte überbringt der Familie von Jose Maria Sison unsere herzlichste und tiefe
Anteilnahme am Tod dieses revolutionären Menschen. Auf mehreren Reisen in die
Philippinen konnten wir die tiefe Verbundenheit der einfachen Menschen mit Joma,
wie er dort immer genannt wurde, erfahren. Trotz Gefängnis, Folter, Verfolgung,
Unterdrückung und Hetze hat er in Wort und Tat am Prinzip „Serve the people“
unbeirrt und selbstlos festgehalten und sein Leben auch im erzwungenen Exil
diesem Sinn gewidmet.

So kritisierte er schon früh die Politik der ehemaligen Sowjetunion mit der
Wiederherstellung des Kapitalismus der neuen Herren dort. Als nach dem Tod von
Mao tsetung in China die neuen Herren die Gesetzmäßigkeiten des Kapitalismus
wieder herstellten, verurteilte er auch diese Restauration. Kein Wunder, dass Joma
Sison und nicht die korrupten und faschistoiden Präsidenten von Marcos über
Estrada, Aquino, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Duterte bis hin zum jetzigen Marcos jr.
im Interesse der USA auf die US-Terrorliste gesetzt wurde.
Hunderte von Menschenrechtler, Umweltschützer wie James Balao,
Gewerkschafter*innen und Frauenrechtlerinnen wurden in den letzten 50 Jahren
durch die Politik des „Killings“ und des „red taggings“ feige ermordet oder
„verschwanden“ spurlos.

Joma Sison wird nicht nur bei den Arbeitern und Bauern unvergessen bleiben. Sie
werden den Kampf um ihre Befreiung und den Schutz der natürlichen Umwelt
bestimmt fortsetzen, gerade jetzt, wo die Philippinen allseits und beschleunigt
geplündert und ein III. Weltkrieg vorbereitet wird. Das Land der 1000 Inseln –
eigentlich ein wunderbares Paradies – und seine Menschen werden über tausende
von Kilometern hinweg mit der Familie von Joma Sison und seinen Freunden in
Trauer verbunden sein. Sie werden ihre Trauer in Kraft verwandeln für eine
lebenswerte Zukunft.

Dear DPFers,
Please convey to the family of Jose Maria Sison our warmest and deepest
sympathy on the death of this revolutionary man. On several trips to the Philippines
we were able to experience the deep attachment of the ordinary people to Joma, as
he was always called there. Despite prison, torture, persecution, oppression and
fake news, he unswervingly and selflessly adhered to the principle of „Serve the
people“ in word and deed and dedicated his life to this purpose even in forced exile.
Thus, he early criticized the policy of the former Soviet Union with the restoration of
capitalism of the new masters there. When after the death of Mao tsetung in China
the new masters restored the laws of capitalism, he also condemned this
restoration. No wonder, Joma Sison and not the corrupt and fascistoid presidents
from Marcos to Estrada, Aquino, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Duterte to the present Marcos Jr. was put on the US terror list in the interest of the US.
Hundreds of human rights activists, environmentalists like James Balao, trade
unionists* and women’s rights activists have been cowardly murdered or
„disappeared“ without a trace in the last 50 years through the policy of „killing“ and
„red tagging“.
Joma Sison will not only be remembered by the workers and peasants. They will
surely continue the struggle for their liberation and the protection of the natural
environment, especially now when the Philippines is being plundered all over and at
an accelerated pace and a 3rd. World War III is being prepared. The land of 1000
islands – actually a wonderful paradise – and its people will be united in mourning
with the family of Joma Sison and his friends for thousands of miles. They will
transform their grief into strength for a future worth living.
